一起健身去!做gym用得著的實用句式

香港可供大家去運動的地方不算太多,因此,越來越多人選擇到連鎖健身中心去鍛鍊身體,或俗稱「做gym」。筆者曾是去年結業健身中心的忠實會員,會籍長達16年,雖然曾經有不愉快的經歷,但仍然選擇加入另一間健身中心,因為一般而言,健身中心有齊全的機器設備、不同種類的健身班、專業的教練指導、及良好的健身氣氛等,不但能鍛鍊肌肉、塑造身形,同時也能和朋友聯絡感情,甚至認識新朋友。相信不少上班一族,也喜歡和同事一起去健身房健身。那麼,在健身房裏,你會遇到和需要哪些英語?這篇,就讓我們去了解一些在健身時應用到的詞彙、實用句式與情景對話。

實用詞彙:
sneaker 運動鞋    
dumbbell 啞鈴
barbell槓鈴
treadmill 跑步機
weight training 重量訓練
cardiovascular training 心肺功能訓練
to work out 健身 (而workout 則是個名詞)
to burn calories 燃燒卡路里
to stretch your muscle 伸展 肌肉

提出健身的主要目的:

情景對話:
A:    Have you been working out (健身)?
B:    Yeah, as a matter of fact, I’ve been going to the gym for almost a year now.
A:    I can totally tell.  You look really buff (體型健美的).  And your beer belly (啤酒肚) is gone.
B:    I usually do an hour of aerobics (帶氧運動) every other day.  I tell you, it can be addictive (上癮). I also eat more healthily. I feel like I'm a brand new guy now.
A:    Well, you look like a million bucks (看起來非常迷人)!
